Rolling along the bottom?
Surfers fear it. Bodyboarders and swimmers get hammered by it. It hurts. When a huge wave breaks on your head and drives you straight to the bottom, rolling you along the rocks and coral, your’e being “ragdolled.” Its one of the most feared aspects to surfing.
Real estate is experiencing this feared aspect currently. We seem to be rolling along the bottom, hammered by bad news from above, no way to get to the surface, sunlight and air.

Follow Matt & Akane As They Sell Their House
We met Matt and Akane through a referral from their Aunt and Uncle. They told us that their relatives had a small house in Orange and now want to upsize due to the children getting close to school age. We contacted them back in February and set a convenient time to meet and see the house.
Out first meeting went well. Sally Anne and I both found the Everitts to b e warm and accepting of our ideas about selling their home. Their home was very typical of today’s crazed parents with small children. The garden needed some attention, minor repairs had been put off, toys and confusion scattered about.
We talked about creating a partnership for success in this transaction. In todays market, preparation is half the battle. We suggested that the Everitts have their house inspected and have the termite done prior to listing the house for sale. They not only had the inspections done but they also had much of the repair work cited in the report done.
Akane went online and searched for websites about home staging. She collected a lot of great ideas and made her house look great. Matt did a great job getting the landscape in shape and they added lots of colorful flowers at the entry.
We scheduled another meeting to sign all the disclosures and get the paperwork in order. They signed the listing, we scheduled the professional photographer and got the property downloaded to the MLS. Today is the first full day the home has been on the market. So far, the Everett’s had a showing within hours of the sign going up. All of the credit for getting the home “show ready” goes to the sellers who were not only receptive to new ideas about selling but also followed those suggestions to make their home show in its best light.
Follow us as we tell the story of selling Matt & Akanes house in real time.

Home Staging–Every House Tells a Story

Simply Staged
Successful home stagers are master story tellers. They use rooms and feelings to weave a magical experience for buyers, leading them to the inevitable conclusion that they want to live like this forever. Watch Meridith Baer, one of the grand dames of Los Angeles home staging transform a vacant house .
Home staging is cost effective by shortening the amount of time your home will be on the market and by differentiating your home from all others in its price category.
Suppose you are one of the lucky few who have a dramatic home, one that all of your friends rave about. Count your blessings, put out some fresh flowers and start packing. For the rest of us, we need a little help from our friends. If you have financial concerns, declutter, freshen up the paint, pay particular attention to curb appeal and the front door . Go outside and take a fresh look at your home, pretend you are visiting f or the first time, ring the doorbell, how does it smell? how does it feel? Simple changes can make all of the difference. Remember ‘less is more’ when you put the for sale sign in the front yard.
For a free professional consultation call Natalie Putnam from Premier Home Staging. After you do everything she says, call us and we’ll be right over to list your house. Then you can start packing.
